The four elements, earth, air, fire, and water, are physical materials and energies that comprise the world around us. Each element has a unique essence, which carries both positive and negative attributes. No element is positive or negative, but rather a conglomerate of different energies. Air relates to intellect, ideas, inspiration, and the mind. Fire relates to transformation, action, power, and the ego. Water relates to emotions, intuition, feelings, and the subconscious mind. Earth relates to safety, protection, the material world, and the physical body.
